A Brief History of The 26th

The 26th Missouri was originally raised in St. Louis Missouri in 1861. The unit saw action throughout the Vicksburg campaign and lost its Commander charging the cities ramparts. Made up of men from all over the world and from all walks of life, men of the 26th embodied the essence of America and its fighting men.

We are a group of living historians based out of Springfield Missouri. Originally raised in the early 1990's by a collection of collage students, the unit quickly moved from doing living history impressions to participating in events as reenactors. Members of the unit have participated in several Hollywood movies as extras and have participated in hundreds of events since its inception.

Today we are proud to continue our original units proud heritage serving as living historians in their honor.
